About the Artist

Bob Napolitano, on location at the Eldorado in Reno, NV.

I was born and raised in the Bronx New York and became interested in drawing at age five.

After high school, I attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, NY, where I received my first formal education in art and received a partial scholarship in my third year. After SVA, I worked as a commercial artist and illustrator in publishing.

In 1978, I moved to South Lake Tahoe, CA, and eventually settled in historic Carson Valley, NV.

In 1991, I started my own art business working on location in Tahoe, CA; Carson Valley and Reno, NV. Since 1998, I’ve been the Artist In Residence at the Eldorado Hotel and Casino in downtown Reno.

About the Art

Portraiture and Caricature art are the two areas that dominate my work. My portraits tend to be more realistic to capture the essence of likeness artistically. The caricature work is more free-flowing, bold, and fun while still capturing a good likeness.
I primarily work in pencil but also take on more advanced commissions in oils or pastels.
